A film announcement that set fans across the nation talking, Salaar, Prabhas' next and this time under the direction of KGF films fame Prashanth Neel, has created massive curiosity with expectations for the action venture already sky-high. Being produced under Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films banner, Salaar will be the banner's next big prestigious project after their K. G. F: Chapter 2, with the Kannada film Kabza starring Upendra and Kichcha Sudeep as well announced sometime back. Salaar will see Prabhas in a full-out action role, with expectations among fans scaling upwards that director Prashanth Neel will once again deliver an earth-shattering visual feast on the big screen. 

Announced in December last year, Salaar kicked off production on Friday after a formal pooja that saw KGF hero 'Rocking Star' Yash, with Prashant Neel, producer Vijay Kiragandur and many other notable names from the Kannada film industry grace the proceedings. Prashanth Neel shared pictures on his Twitter page from the grand Salaar launch event and expressed his gratitude to Vijay Kiragandur and Prabhas for the opportunity, while also thanking Yash for his association over the years with the KGF films. Salaar is yet another biggie from Prabhas as the Baahubali star has in his big budget lineup namely director Radha Krishna Kumar's period romantic film Radhe Shyam opposite Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo star Pooja Hegde, followed by the tentatively titled Prabhas 21 with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan under Mahanati director Nag Ashwin and the highly ambitious Adipurush, which will see him face off Saif Ali Khan, who has been cast as the antagonist, with Om Raut serving as the director. 

Fans are mighty excited for Salaar as it will see the Prabhas-Prashanth Neel combo, which has been long-awaited by the Telugu superstar's fans. Salaar too is set to be a pan-Indian film on the lines of the KGF films as Prabhas has achieved a fanbase around the country post the gargantuan success of his Baahubali films. As for Prashant Neel, he will be expecting to triumph on a larger note with his upcoming K. G. F: Chapter 2, with Yash reprising his role as Rocky Bhai. The period action film is set to arrive in theatres in the next few months as the post-production works are currently being carried out in an active manner.
