2023 has surprised Tamil cinema fans with several content-oriented films and one among the many that have turned out to be a commercial and critical success is the recently-released Por Thozhil. The psychological thriller film directed by debutant Vignesh Raja and starring Ashok Selvan, Sarath Kumar, and Nikhila Vimal in the lead roles has been going houseful in theatres across Tamil Nadu. With Por Thozhil continuing its strong run in cinemas, the team on Friday, June 30, took part in the film's success meet in Chennai where Sakthivelan B of Sakthi Film Factory revealed the worldwide box office collections for the first time.

During his speech at the Por Thozhil success meet event, Sakthivelan B went on to declare that the film has earned around Rs. 50 crores in worldwide collections leaving theatre owners happy while calling it a box office miracle. The reputed producer-distributor also praised director Vignesh Raja calling him a boon to the Tamil film industry. Actor Ashok Selvan, who played the role of a rookie cop in the film also had words of appreciation for Vignesh Raja, adding that the filmmaker has got a clear idea on paper and is meticulous in his script work, while also extending his gratitude to co-actor Sarath Kumar, Sakthivelan B, and the assistant and associate directors and the entire team. Sarath Kumar too chimed in saying he and Ashok Selvan shared a good chemistry in Por Thozhil and off-screen as well, while thanking the media and the audience for making it such a huge success.

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with E4 Entertainments and Eprius Studio banners, Por Thozhil revolves around a newbie cop played by Ashok Selvan, who joins veteran police officer Sarath Kumar, in the investigation behind finding a serial killer. The film has music composed by Jakes Bejoy, while the technical team includes cinematography by Kalaiselvan Sivaji, editing by Sreejith Sarang, production design by Indulal Kaveed, followed by costume designs by Dinesh Manoharan, and stunt choreography by Phoenix Prabhu.
