Biopics have been a fad over the past few years with films being made on various personalities among which is the upcoming Bollywood film titled 83 based on former World Cup-winning Indian Cricket Team captain, Kapil Dev’s life with Ranveer Singh playing the role of the iconic cricketer under Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame, Kabir Khan's direction.
83 will also feature Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, Chirag Patil, Tamil actor Jiiva among others in supporting roles and will mainly focus on the Indian Cricket Team winning the 1983 World Cup.
Few major highlights of 83 include Chirag Patil playing the role of his cricketer father, Sandip Patel while Jiiva is portraying Krishnamachari Srikkanth with Petta star Nawazuddin Siddiqui also a part of the cast in a major role.
Now, an interesting update about 83 has come out as Kapil Dev’s daughter, Amiya Dev, is also part of the upcoming biopic and has joined the crew as an assistant director with this movie marking her debut in cinema. As per the latest reports, she is part of the practicing schedule while also coordinating with the cast.
In this training session, the cast is being trained by former pace bowler Balvindar Singh Sandhu at a popular Mumbai Cricket stadium with Amiya Dev also seen being present on the sets and is coordinating meetings, planning schedules, costumes among other duties.
