With mere 10 days to go for the release of Ponniyin Selvan, fans are more than ecstatic for the film to hit the screens. It is easily one of the most anticipated movies of the year 2022 because of which there is a lot of hype going surrounding it. Over the past few weeks and months, the team has been unveiling bits and pieces from the film in order to keep the audiences hooked. They have released character posters, songs, trailer, teasers and glimpses.
Now the team is on their way for a nationwide tour in order to promote their upcoming film. The makers of Ponniyin Selvan announced this through the official Twitter handle of Lyca Productions by posting a short clip which gave information on the tour itenary. They also attached a caption to it that read, "The Cholas are arriving in your towns! Get ready for #TheGrandCholaTour by Team #PS1 🔥 Itinerary below ⚔️ ". Check it out:
The team will first head to Trivandrum today (September 20), then to Bangalore on September 22, to Hyderabad on September 23, Mumbai on September 24 and finally Delhi on September 24. They are covering all the major cities as it has the most population which in turn will lead to more audiences coming into theatres.
Ponniyin Selvan: I is an upcoming Tamil epic period film directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under the banners of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. It is the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name. Ponniyin Selvan was originally intended to be a stand-alone film but it was later split into two parts.
The film stars an ensemble cast consisting of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban. The music is composed by Isaipuyal A. R. Rahman and is scheduled to be have a worldwide theatrical release on 30 September 2022 in both standard and IMAX format.
