Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi have changed their respective Twitter profile names to the characters that they have played in the film. Chiyaan Vikram has changed his Twitter profile name to Aditha Karikalan, while Jayam Ravi and Trisha have changed it to Arun Mozhi Varman and Kundavai respectively. Karthi has changed his name to His Highness Vanthiyathevan.

This name change will gain a good level of traction and buzz on social media and more surprises are said to be planned. With just 14 more days for the film's release, the makers will be looking forward to maximising the promotions to greater levels. Ponniyin Selvan has been made as a two part film and the first part will release on September 30, while the release plans of the second part are yet to be known.
