Life of Pi is a 2012 American 3D adventure drama, directed by Ang Lee, featuring Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Gerard Depardieu, Tabu and Adil Hussain in important roles. The story of the film revolves around a 16-year old boy, named Piscine Molitor 'Pi' Patel from Pondicherry, who survives a shipwreck in which his family dies and is stranded in the Pacific Ocean on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger, named Richard Parker.

The Pondicherry Government has decided to felicitate the entire team of Life of Pi, including Ang Lee. Pondicherry Tourism Minister P Rajavelu, confirming the news said that the date of felicitation will be decided according to convenience of Ang Lee and other team members.

At the recently held 85th Academy Awards, Life of Pi won four Oscars, including Best Director for Ang Lee.
