Pattalam released
Rohan Krishna’s vibrant and youthful film Pattalam has released today. As expected, the theatres were thronged with youngsters – mostly teenagers – who were in a cathartic frenzy after a bout of exams. Not just youngsters, there were also adultslooking forward to have some fun. It appears the byline “(Pattalam offers) Ten times the fun in Kanaa Kaanum Kolangal” has really caught up with the public! After all, it is an immensely popular TV serial (directed by Rohan Krishna himself) among children and adults alike.
As Rohan says, Pattalam is a harbinger of a new genre in Tamil Cinema – movies for teenagers – which are so common in Hollywood. While teenager movies in Hollywood mean movies that are “adamantly young” and “fun all along” these days, Kollywood still harps on the age-old hormone havoc theory. But Rohan has changed that all with Pattalam, which stars an enchanting Nathiya as a teacher/psychologist and nine young pranksters in the lead. While showing the fun that kids have at school in the company of a considerate teacher, it makesadults yearn to go back to their school days.
Produced by Thirupathi Brothers (Linguswamy and Subash Chandra Bose), the film is all set to rewrite history in the entertainment arena. So, if you want to have some pure summer fun evn before summer sets in, Pattalam is what youneed to watch. Don't miss it!
