Speaking at the Pathu Thala audio launch, A. R. Rahman stated, "STR was in Thailand when I planned a song for him in the film. Actually, the 'Namma Satham' song was supposed to be sung by him, but he boarded the flight at the time and that is why I had to step in." The 'Oscar Nayagan' also revealed the factors for agreeing to compose music for Pathu Thala stating, "Simbu is the first reason. Director Krishna is another reason because he has a unique musical taste. One of the biggest songs in my career was 'Munbe Vaa'. When I gave him the song, I told him it was quite sad, but he had the conviction that it will become a huge hit. Two decades later, it continues to stay at the top."
A. R. Rahman also had words of love for Silambarasan's father T. Rajendar and said, "He's one of my inspirations. I had worked with Ilaiyaraaja sir, M. S. Viswanathan sir, and K. V. Mahadevan sir, but when I came to him, I was an introvert. Upon witnessing his working style, the introvert in me became an extrovert, and that is why he's an inspiration." The blockbuster composer also went on to share that the Pathu Thala album will cater to the mass element and said that the re-recording work is currently underway night and day, with an important session recently completed at his Firdaus Studio in Expo City Dubai. A. R. Rahman finally took the opportunity to speak at the Pathu Thala audio launch on behalf of the lightman association in Tamil cinema and shed light on the 'Save Lightman Fund' initiative, with its website being launched by STR.
