The most successful franchise in the history of Indian cinema, filmmaker SS Rajamouli's Baahubali films - Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion chartered a new course in terms of box office collections collectively grossing over 2000 crores worldwide. One of the striking attributes in the films were the characters among whom Ramya Krishnan’s Sivagami stood tall right up alongside the lead stars. Post the release of the films, there has been considerable talk surrounding yet another venture in the franchise with official confirmation now coming in for a series to be streamed on Netflix.
Titled Baahubali: Before The Beginning, the series will reportedly narrate events 50 years before the happenings of Baahubali: The Beginning and approximately 75 years before Baahubali: The Conclusion with actress Mrunal Thakur announced to be playing the younger version of queen Sivagami; originally portrayed by Ramya Krishnan. The Love Sonia actress joins Vishwaroopam star Rahul Bose, Siddharth Arora, Atul Kulkarni, Anup Soni and Vaquar Shaikh in the series that has been co-directed by Praveen Sataru and Deva Katta.
