Rocky is an upcoming Tamil action drama, directed by debutant Arun Matheswaran, a former associate of Thiagarajan Kumararaja. This film has Taramani fame Vasanth Ravi and veteran director Bharathirajaa playing the lead roles, while popular dubbing artist turned actor Raveena Ravi and Rohini will be seen in supporting characters. The film is produced by CR Manoj Kumar under his banner of RA Studios. ENPT sensation Darbuka Siva has composed the music, while Shreyaas Krishna and Nagooran have taken care of the cinematography and editing departments respectively. The film's trailer which released last year received an overwhelming response from the film buffs. The visuals looked absolutely great and the treatment was very unique.

The trailer was packed with some high intense moments and it made the fans look forward to the film. The makers were waiting for a suitable release date to release the film. Having said that, the young and fresh team of Rocky have now got a huge support in the form of lady superstar Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan. Yes! The much-loved couple has acquired the distribution rights of the film and will present it under their banner of Rowdy Pictures. Vignesh made the announcement last night with a tweet that read, "There r moments in life, wer u feel #WhatGoesAroundComesAround @arunmatheswaran my dear friend for a long time,started together as ADs & now to see our names together in ur first film makes me feel happy :)Nayan & Me want to present this special film to ya'll #RowdyAquiresRocky".

The release plans are yet to be known and let us patiently wait for a few more days to get a better clarity on that. Recently, we had seen director Atlee presenting Andhaghaaram and director Vetri Maaran presenting Kavalthurai Ungal Nanban and both the films got a better visibility and support after the filmmakers came into the picture. Similarly, let us hope and wish Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara's name in Rocky gives the film a wider reach among the masses. Rocky will mark the couple's debut in distribution.

Their first production venture is Netrikann, starring Nayanthara under the direction of Milind Rau of Aval fame. On the directorial front, Vignesh Shivan's next will be Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal that stars Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles. Produced by Lalit Kumar under the banner of 7 Screen Studios, this romantic comedy drama will have music scored by rockstar Anirudh Ravichander.
