Acclaimed filmmaker Mysskin has been officially signed onboard for Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming film, Maaveeran which was officially announced a few days back. The official announcement was made this evening and it has made the fans look forward to the collaboration. It is going to be exciting to witness Sivakarthikeyan and Mysskin together and it looks like a refreshing treat awaits fans. If the buzz is to be believed, Mysskin is said to play the antagonist and he will be locking horns against SK in Maaveeran. The film is directed by Madonne Ashwin who recently bagged two National Awards - Best Dialogue Writer, Best Debut Director for his exceptional work in his debut directorial - Mandela.

Produced by Arun Viswa under the banner of Shanti Talkies, the film will have music composed by Bharath Sankar, while the cinematography and editing departments are taken care of by Vidhu Ayyana and Philomin Raj respectively. The shooting of the film has begun today (August 3) in full swing and the first schedule will take place with Sivakarthikeyan and other actors. Director Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar plays the female lead in Maaveeran and this will be her second outing in Tamil cinema after Viruman. Yesteryear actress Saritha has also been signed to play an important role and she is most likely to play SK's mother in the film. More details are awaited.

Sivakarthikeyan has tasted success back to back with Doctor and Don and he would be looking forward to maintaining the success streak with Maaveeran as well. Sivakarthikeyan's next release in Kollywood will be Prince which is set to hit the screens for the festive occasion of Diwali. Prince has music composed by the National Award winning Thaman S and has popular Ukrainian model Mario Ryaboshapka as the female lead. Sivakarthikeyan also has a film under the production of Kamal Haasan and direction of Rajkumar Periasamy.
