Superstar Mohanlal is geared for his next big project 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham'. Directed by popular Malayalam director Priyadarshan, this period movie based on the life of legandary freedom fighter Kunjali Marakkar is Lal's most awaited film of the year.
But, the film has run into a controversy over the Mohanlal's costumes in the movie. Kunjali Marakkar Smaraka Vedi, a cultural body has slammed the makers for trying to distort history. Mohanlal is seen wearing a Sikh turban and a Ganesh mudra on his head in film stills, which are factually incorect, alleged the body.
In a press meet held at Calicut, members of the body alleged that the filmmakers are trying to fantasise the freedom fighter in the name of artistic freedom. Marakkar's shooting is currently progressing at a brisk pace at Hyderabad's Film City. It has an ensemble cast consisting of Suniel Shetty, Arjun Sarja, Prabhu, Madhu, Fazil among others.
