Late veteran comedian Mayilsamy's son Arumainayagam shared his grievances about his late father. Aarumuganayagam (A.K.A) Anbu detailed what happened to his father in our exclusive Galatta interview, which can be roughly translated as, "My father underwent bypass heart surgery after experiencing a mild heart attack while attending a shooting in Pollachi in November 2021. During the procedure, doctors discovered blockages in his heart. Recently, my father attended the Karthigai Deepam function and went to his hotel room. In the middle of the night, we received a call informing us that he had been hospitalized as his condition became serious due to overstrain. While my father had previously been quick to seek medical attention whenever he experienced any health issues, this time he did not mention anything before being hospitalized."

Furthermore, When we asked about the routine of his late father for the past months, Aarumuganayagam (A.K.A) Anbu further said, "We told him not to drink, he sometimes listened and sometimes he didn't. My father is typically was a short-tempered person, but his anger usually dissipates quickly, within a few minutes. He does not appreciate being forced or coerced into anything. Three months ago, my father had a heart attack, which prompted his doctor to advise him to change his lifestyle. As a result, he decided to give up alcohol completely, something he had occasionally consumed before. He has been very firm about his decision and has not had a drink since then. Following his heart attack, he was transported by ambulance from Thiruvannamalai to Chennai, where he spent 15 days in the hospital. After that, he completely altered his lifestyle for health reasons."
On February 19, the legendary actor-comedian Mayilsamy passed away due to cardiac arrest in Chennai at the age of 57. The news has left fans and the entertainment industry shocked.
