The mood in the Thenandal Studios Limited camp has been upbeat since last year post the astonishing success of their blockbuster, Mersal, starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay.
That said, a massive announcement has now been made by Thenandal Studios Limited, who will next be producing Dhanush’s second directorial, a bilingual and is tentatively titled DD2.

Apart from directing DD2, Dhanush will be starring alongside SJ Suryah in the film which also includes Sean Roldan scoring the music, Om Prakash handling the cinematography and GK Prasanna taking care of the editing.
DD2 also marks the return of Sarathkumar to Tamil cinema after his Adangathey alongside GV Prakash.
Then, Telugu superstar Akkineni Nagarajuna too has been announced to be part of the cast of DD2.
DD2 also includes Srikanth, who too will be seen returning to Tamil cinema after a nearly two year gap.
Finally, Aditi Rao Hydari, who awaits the release of the multi-starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam directed by Mani Ratnam will be playing the female lead in DD2.
