After delivering great films to the Tamil film industry and facing great success with his gritty, rooted social dramas, it was earlier reported through a poster of a project that director Mari Selvaraj's next would be announced today (November 21). Well, today is here and so is the first look poster of the film which has been titled Vaazhai. He took to his official Twitter handle and shared the poster along with a caption that read, "M4 வாழை 🦋 ". Check it out:

This will be his fourth directorial venture after 2018's Pariyerum Perumal and 2021's Karnan. It is reported that this Mari Selvaraj project, which will be backed by Disney+ Hotstar, stars Kalaiyarasan and Nikhila Vimal in the lead. The director is currently working on his third film titled Maamannan starring actor-producer-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin with Keerthy Suresh in the female lead and Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles. 

He also has a long-awaited collaboration with Chiyaan Vikram's son, Dhruv Vikram, which will be entering its production phase in 2023. This project was supposed to be a sports biopic based on the life of a Kabaddi player from South Tamil Nadu. Fans were expecting this poster to be that of the announcement of his project regarding the Dhruv Vikram film. Meanwhile, the shooting of Maamannan has been wrapped up, and the post-production work is underway. With music by A. R Rahman, and cinematography by Theni Eswar, Maamannan is backed by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies.
