Kollywood's legendary director K.Balachander’s two cult classics, Manmadha Leelai and Thillu Mullu, is all set to be remade in Tamil soon. Producer Pushpa Kandhaswamy, who owns the remake rights to these films, is currently in talks with several top Kollywood directors.
Manmadha Leelai, starring Kamal Haasan, narrates the life story of a womansier and his several fleeting affairs. On the other hand Thillu Mullu, remake of Golmaal with Rajinikanth in lead role, was about a man who creates a fictional brother to fool his boss.
"We are now working on the remakes, we are also holding discussion with a few directors. We will retain the essence of the theme, but spin around a new tale,” Pushpa Kandhaswamy said in a press note.
When asked whether the legendary KB will be directing any of these remakes, she said "We are working out on all the probabilities. It‘s too early to divulge more details."
