Any film that has the name Mani Ratnam attached to it generates instant talk and curiosity.
The six-time National-Award-winning filmmaker is at present working on his upcoming multi-starrer titled Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which went on floors last week.
Jointly being produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam titled Nawab in Telugu with music by A. R. Rahman has now added a rising talent in the form of Malayalam actor Appani Sarath.
Malayalam film lovers will know Appani Sarath for his breakout role in the smash hit, Angamaly Diaries released last year.
As a matter of fact, a while back, it was being reported another Angamaly Diaries star, Antony Varghese, the film’s lead was initially approached for a role in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Looking at the way things have now progressed, Appani Sarath seems to have bagged the role.
Meanwhile, he will next be seen making his debut in Tamil cinema in Vishal’s Sandakozhi 2.
Chekka Chivantha Vaanam features a multi-star cast starting with Simbu as one of the film’s leads.
Jyothika has been cast after her smashing performance in Bala’s Naachiyaar.
'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi too has been confirmed for a role in Nawab.
Mani Ratnam’s frequent associate Arvind Swami has an important role in the film.
Post his impressive performances in Yennai Arindhaal and Kuttram 23, Arun Vijay has landed yet another meaty role in this big film.
Aishwarya Rajesh, who has come a long way in recent times, has added Chekka Chivantha Vaanam after Dhruva Natchathiram and Vada Chennai to her filmography this year.
After last year's Kaatru Veliyidai, Aditi Rao Hydari is on board this Mani Ratnam project.
This film is getting bigger and bigger.
