The next lyric video from Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 has been released and this is the lyric video of the song, 'Sol'. This short yet sweet number is crooned by Rakshita Suresh and has lyrics penned by Krithika Nelson. 'Sol' is a friendship number featuring Trisha and Sobhita Dhulipala who play Kundavai and Vaanathi respectively. Through the lyric video, we get to see some new stills from the film and both the actresses look absolutely gorgeous. Mani Ratnam is known for his song picturizations and it looks like 'Sol' will also be a visually pleasing number, serving as a feast for our eyes.

'Sol' is a beautiful number that makes you feel lighter, ending up as a pleasant listen. The lyric videos of 'Ponni Nadhi', 'Chola Chola', and 'Ratchasa Maamaney' have already been released and the videos of 'Alaikadal' and 'Devaralan Aattam' are yet to be released. A.R.Rahman's songs have turned out to be highly popular among the masses and have found a place in the playlists of music lovers. Ponniyin Selvan is Mani Ratnam's ambitious project and the fans have pinned high hopes on this historical epic. The film is slated for release on September 30 and it will have a pan Indian release in 5 languages - Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, Ponniyin Selvan has been made as a two part film and details reagrding the release plans of the second part are yet to be known. Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Karthi, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play the lead roles in this magnum opus that has an ensemble supporting cast including the likes of Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Jayaram, Lal, R Parthiban, Mohan Raman, Nizhalgal Ravi, Jaya Chitra, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Ashwin Kakumanu, Arjun Chidambaram, Sarah Arjun, and others. Ravi Varman has handled the cinematography of the film that has editing by Sreekar Prasad.
