Sajan Prakash and Vedaant Madhavan had earlier bagged gold and silver medals respectively at the Danish Open which was being held in Copenhagen. Actor R Madhavan is on cloud nine as his son Vedaant Madhavan has now gone to bag the gold medal in swimming at the same swim contest. Vedaant won the medal in the 800m swimming event clocking in at 8:17.28.
The Irudhi Suttru / Saala Khadoos actor shared a clip in which Vedaant's name is being announced during the prizing ceremony. He shared the clip on his Instagram handle along with a caption that read, "GOLD….With all your blessings and God‘s greatest the winning street continues. Today it’s a GOLD IN 800m for @vedaantmadhavan. Overwhelmed and humbled. Thank you Coach @bacpradeep sir @swimmingfederation.in @ansadxb and the entire team."
Continuing his splendid run, the fast-rising Indian swimmer has added this gold to his kitty, making it the second medal won at the Danish Open. The 16-year-old bettered his personal best time by a whopping 11:48 to stop the clock at 8:17.28, just managing to scrape past and beat local swimmer Alexander L Bjorn by 10 milliseconds to stand atop the podium on Sunday (April 17) night.
Though Vedaant’s performance was good enough to win him gold at the meet, it is still a long way from international standards. However, Vedaant Madhavan has shown immense improvement. He has bettered his personal best times in all three events he has participated in in the ongoing meet.
Speaking of Madhavan, he will be next seen in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The film is based on the life of former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan. The upcoming film will mark R. Madhavan's directorial debut as he has written, directed, and produced the film. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 1 July 2022.
