Madhavan will be making his debut as a director with Rocketry: The Nambi Effect which happens to be the actor's most ambitious project to date. Earlier today (September 27), the makers officially announced the release plans of Rocketry which has garnered good buzz on social media. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will release in theatres on April 1, 2022, and it will have a wide release across the globe. The official statement from the team of Rocketry read, "We are elated to inform you that the much-awaited #Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will be released worldwide in theatres on 1st April 2022. We have made this movie with a lot of love and dedication and are grateful for all the support that you have shown us so far".

As already known, Rocketry is the biopic of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and Aerospace Engineer of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Nambi Narayanan was falsely accused of espionage which turned his life drastically. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will trace those events, giving the audience a clear picture of what really happened. Apart from directing, Madhavan has also acted in the lead role, essaying Nambi Narayanan's character. Madhavan's makeover as Nambi garnered wide attention among the fans and this film is expected to showcase him in a completely different dimension.

Simran will be seen playing the female lead, as Nambi Narayanan's wife, while the supporting cast includes Ravi Raghavendra, Meesha Ghoshal, Karthik Kumar, Gulshan Grover, Dinesh Prabhakar, Mohan Raman, Ron Donachle, and others play supporting roles. Suriya will be seen playing an interesting cameo in this film. Apart from the Tamil version, Rocketry has also been made in Hindi and English. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen playing Suriya's cameo role in the Hindi version of the film.

Produced by Tricolour Films in association with Varghese Moolan Pictures, Rocketry has music composed by Vikram Vedha and Kaithi sensation Sam CS. Sirsha Roy and Bijith Bala have taken care of the cinematography and editing departments respectively.
