Any ardent follower of Tamil cinema would definitely remember the iconic 'Vaamaa Minnal' comedy sequence from Sarathkumar's Maayi, directed by Surya Prakash. Produced by RB Choudary's Super Good Films, Maayi featured Sarath Kumar and Meena in the lead roles. The above mentioned comedy sequence has a separate fan base and is still enjoyed by people across generations. Vadivelu's comedy performance in this sequence won the hearts of the Tamil audience. The girl who played the character of 'Minnal' was Deepa, who was thereafter addressed as Minnal Deepa. Later, she played brief characters in notable films like Sarathkumar's Arasu, Chiyaan Vikram's Arul, Thalapathy Vijay's Thamizhan and Priyamanavale, Jai, Aalukkoru Aasai and more.

Minnal Deepa has also acted in important roles in popular Tamil serials like Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal, Priyasaki, Romapuri Pandian, Bhairavi Aavigalukku Priyamanaval, Chellame, Vani Rani, etc. She is currently essaying the role of Poongodhai in the widely popular Tamil serial, Yaaradi Nee Mohini, which is being aired on Zee Tamil channel. Yes! Minnal Deepa entered wedlock recently amidst the lockdown. Deepa got hitched to her beau Subramani on August 24 at her residence in Chennai. The wedding happened as a low key affair without any grand gala celebrations. Deepa took to her Instagram page to post pictures from the wedding and one has to agree that the couple look great together. Deepa sounded very emotional and excited about the wedding and thanked everyone for the love. Deepa shared the wedding picture and wrote, "😍😀😀😀😀😀😀💞 please I need all my friends and fans blessing thank u💞".
