Addressing the positive and the negative comments, including the comparison of the songs in Ponniyin Selvan and Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), Elango Krishnan stated, "Each song has its own individuality. The 'Chola Chola' song has an identity of its own. The film you just mentioned is also an example of it. All songs have their own individuality. We have to enjoy it in its own beauty. If we have a song, it will have its own charm and we must enjoy it on those levels. Taking it and comparing with another song and vice versa is actually unnecessary."
With the songs in Ponniyin Selvan: 2 getting a good feedback for its tunes and lyrics, all eyes are now set on the visuals, which fans look forward to witnessing on the big screen next. The film has the lead star cast from Ponniyin Selvan: 1 reprising their roles among whom include 'Chiyaan' Vikram as Aditha Karikalan, Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman, Karthi as Vanthiyathevan, Trisha as Kundavai, Aishwarya Lekshmi as Poonguzhali, Sobhita Dhulipala as Vaanathi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in dual roles as Nandini and Mandakini.
