Blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj shared words of appreciation after watching the trailer of 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's next big film, Jailer. The hit director took to social media on Thursday, August 3, to shower praise for the latest visuals from the mass action entertainer produced by the prestigious Sun Pictures banner. Taking to X, Lokesh Kanagaraj declared Rajinikanth to be in "fiery mode" stating that the Jailer showcase was an "absolute bliss" experience, while also extending his wishes to director Nelson Dilipkumar, music director Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Vijay Kartik and the entire cast and the crew. Lokesh Kanagaraj is the latest big name in Tamil cinema to commend the Jailer showcase, which has taken social media by storm and is trending at the top on YouTube with more than 10 million views already. The filmmaker's statement about the trailer of the Rajinikanth-starrer has come at a time when there's been talk about them joining hands for a film together soon, with an official announcement on the project keenly awaited by Tamil cinema fans. Having garnered a big fan following over the years after directing blockbusters like Kaithi (2019), Master (2021), and Vikram (2022), the expectations for Lokesh Kanagaraj teaming up with Rajinikanth on a project have been massive right from the get-go and the filmmaker sharing his excitement for the Jailer showcase is perhaps the start of big things up ahead.
Jailer is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on August 10 and the buzz for the film has shot up tenfold after fans got to witness Rajinikanth in action once again in the showcase trailer for the first time since his Annaatthe (2021). The film's extended star cast also includes Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar and iconic Malayalam actor Mohanlal making appearances in cameo roles. In addition, Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, Taramani and Rocky actor Vasanth Ravi, Pushpa fame Sunil, and Mirnaa Menon will be seen in key roles, while Mariyan antagonist Vinayakan is playing the villain.
