Blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj addressed media persons on Wednesday ahead of the release of his next big film, Leo, which opens in cinemas worldwide on October 19. The hit director shared several interesting details regarding his working experience in the upcoming film, while also opening up on whether he will reunite with 'Thalapathy' Vijay once again. Lokesh Kanagaraj was asked by the press about actor and Tamil Nadu politician Udhayanidhi Stalin earlier today hinting that Leo is a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which was first coined after the events of Karthi's Kaithi (2019) were mentioned in Kamal Haasan's Vikram (2022).
Speaking at the Leo press meet, Lokesh Kanagaraj went on to say, "If you have a look at his post, he has also posted a winking face emoji. You'll know [whether it is a part of the LCU] tomorrow morning." Earlier in the day, Udhayanidhi Stalin shared his feedback on X (formerly Twitter) after watching the upcoming Vijay-starrer and congratulated the actor for his performance, while also showering appreciation on Lokesh Kanagaraj, music director Anirudh Ravichander, and the stunt choreographer duo Anbariv. Lokesh Kanagaraj further revealed that he had shown three different versions of Leo to Vijay, who hugged and thanked him after their final private screening.
The excitement and the expectations surrounding Leo have been huge and fans will no doubt be waiting with bated breath to finally get to know tomorrow whether the film is indeed a part of the LCU. The mass action drama is the second time the Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Anirudh trio have collaborated after their smash success, Master (2021), and fans will be looking forward to the film shattering several box office records. Leo has Vijay paired with Trisha once again after 15 years, with Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, 'Action King' Arjun, Mysskin, and Sandy master cast in negative roles, while Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, among others, will be seen making appearances.
