Lissy says Varkey isn't her actual father
In the backdrop of Ernakulam district magistrate's order to provide Rs. 5,000 to her 'father' V.D. Varkey per month as per the rule for the protection of parents and senior citizens, former actress and noted director Priyadarshan's wife Lissy, who recently gained media attention in connection with the Kochi IPL team, denied the paternity claims of Varkey.
Earlier, a person named V.D. Varky had complained to the Ernakulam district magistrate that Lissy was not taking care of him despite his old age.
In a statement, she said that she has never known her father all through these years and that she cannot provide for someone who suddenly pops up, claiming to be her father. (Lissy's father had abandoned her family when she was a child and was taken care of by her mother.) The actress also said that in her school certificates her father's name is mentioned as George, and not Varkey.
