Yesterday (August 22), the Saidapet Court sentenced director N Lingusamy to six months in jail in connection to a case that alleged that the star filmmaker failed to repay a debt of Rs.1.03 Crores. According to reports, director N Lingusamy and his brother Subash Chandra Bose had gathered an amount of Rs.1.03 Crores from PVP Capital to produce a film titled 'Enni Ezhu Naal', but the project never materialized. PVP Capital filed a case in court and the case came for a hearing yesterday. The Court sentenced the Anjaan director to six months of imprisonment and the judgement came as a shocker to many in Tamil Nadu.

Lingusamy is a prominent filmmaker in South cinema and he has delivered several memorable hit films to his credit and this judgement garnered wide attention on social media. As a new development in the case, director Lingusamy has issued an official statement from his side. In his statement, Lingusamy has made it clear that he will handle the case legally to prove his side. Lingusamy's official statement read, "It is my responsibility to give clarity to the news that has been spreading around through various media channels. This case is between PVP Capital and our production house, Thirrupathi Brothers Film Media Private Limited. The Respected Court has given the judgement based on the case filed by PVP Capital. We, Thirrupathi Brothers, shall appeal against the judgement in the Court and take the case forward legally".

On the professional front, Lingusamy's last release was the recently released Ram Pothineni starrer The Warriorr which featured Krithi Shetty as the female lead. The film opened to mixed reviews from the audiences. Details regarding Lingusamy's next directorial venture are yet to be known and further details are awaited.
