Director Suseenthiran is a popular Indian filmmaker who has made many talked about films since his debut with Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu, his recent film was Kuttram Kuttrame which premiered directly on television. The director has turned producer to introduce the popular actor and son of legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja, Manoj Bharathiraja. He is making his directorial debut with the film titled Margazhi Thingal. The shooting of the film happened in the Palani district of Tamil Nadu and the film also features Bharathiraja in a pivotal role. Now, the producer has released a statement about an unexpected tragedy on the sets of the film.
The video statement shows the director Susueenthiran saying “The shooting of the film Margazhi Thingal happened in a village near Palani named Kanakaampatti. We were shooting near a forest temple, after finishing shooting there. We planned to shoot in a corn maize field. We got a huge umbrella light from Chennai for that. There was huge rain, thunder and storm. We were all shocked. All the lights fell down and even lighting struck one of the lights. Luckily, five lightmen who were near escaped, by god’s grace. I don't know How to express this. During this tragic time every crew member supported us and I want to thank them.”

This video statement by the producer was shared on social media and some photos from the shooting spot were also shared from Margazhi Thingal sets. The film was an announcement recently, to be produced under the banner of Vennila Production. Apart from Bharathiraja, the film also has Shyaam Selvam and Rakshana in important roles and is said to be a rural drama. The film will have Music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. The recent statement shows despite the lightening struck the place of shooting of the cast and crew of the film are safe.
