Directed by Academy award winner Ang Lee, of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon fame, The Life of Pi, is an adaptation of Yann Martel's book of the same name! Starring Irrfan Khan, Tabu, and debutants Suraj Sharma and Shravanthi Sainath, this movie has a completely global feel to it! The story begins in Puducherry, in India, and describes the journey of a lifetime, of young Piscine Molitor Patel (Pi)! Though the project has been on for quite some time, all the pieces have fallen into place now, and the makers have decided to release it in India, on November 23! The movie is releasing simultaneously in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, in India!
The animation for the movie has been done in the US and in India, with a major portion of it happening in Hyderabad and Mumbai! Screening of some exclusive footage from the movie was held by the makers, as part of promotional activities, in Chennai, in the presence of the full cast and director Ang Lee! The lead actors and Ang Lee interacted with the media, and were at their cheerful best, as they happily answered the barrage of questions thrown at them! After watching a few scenes from the movie, we just can't wait for it to release, to enjoy the whole presentation! Bring it on, we say!
