'Chiyaan' Vikram will be kicking off 2024 on a grand note with the highly-anticipated Thangalaan directed by acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Pa. Ranjith. The upcoming period action drama set in the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) during the pre-Independence era commenced its promotions earlier this week, with the release of an intense teaser, which continues to be the talk of the town. Vikram, who previously won the Best Actor National Award for his powerful performance in Pithamagan (2003), is playing another dynamic role in Pa. Ranjith's Thangalaan and is already a fan-favorite to win yet another national distinction.
With the Thangalaan team taking part in various promotional activities related to the launch of the teaser, Vikram and the film's team have been interacting with the media over the past couple of days. That being said, there has been a slight confusion regarding his dialogues in the Pa. Ranjith film, which has now been officially clarified by the actor's manager on social media. On Friday, November 3, Vikram's manager took to X to inform that Vikram will indeed have dialogues in Thangalaan since the film has been made in live-sync sound. He added that a reporter had asked the actor whether he would have any dialogue in the Pa. Ranjith film, who responded jokingly saying that he didn't have any words to speak in the teaser, leading to the confusion. Vikram's manager wrote, "There seems to me a confusion on social media about @chiyaan sir having no dialogues in #Thangalaan. To clarify.. A reporter asked him if he has any dialogue in the movie and Vikram sir joked that he has no dialogue in the ‘teaser’. #Thangalaan has live/sync sound. So he definitely has dialogues in the film." The Thangalaan teaser didn't feature any dialogues, with the emphasis largely being on the performances, and action, including the music composed by National Award winner G. V. Prakash Kumar. Earlier, Vikram didn't have any dialogue in Pithamagan, with the actor's latest clarification now putting a rest to the confusion on social media regarding his role in the Pa. Ranjith film. Releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages, Thangalaan will see Vikram sharing screen space with Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, and Harikrishnan in key roles, while English actor Daniel Caltagirone will be playing the antagonist.
