Actor Vikranth will be seen playing the role of an aspiring cricketer alongside Vishnu Vishal in filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam hitting screens worldwide on February 9. The upcoming film will also feature 'Superstar' Rajinikanth as Moideen bhai in a special appearance, with the trailer and the promotional material showing him to be playing a crucial role in the proceedings of the story. Explaining how Rajinikanth's role is not merely relegated to appearing for a short duration in Lal Salaam, Vikranth has now in an exclusive interview with Galatta opened up on several interesting details about why the iconic Tamil actor agreed to be a part of the film.
Speaking about Rajinikanth's role in Lal Salaam, Vikranth stated, "Guest appearances in films are basically a selling point where the artistes will appear for one or two small scenes. This isn't anything as such as he has done a proper full-length character. The reason sir did this film is not for his daughter. Both of them have spoken about this. Maybe it might be ten percent, but ninety percent, he took up the role for the script and the character. He agreed to to the role because he liked it a lot. And, his appearance in the film won't be for a short span and he will be seen almost throughout the film."
There is tremendous buzz surrounding Lal Salaam, especially after the film's trailer showcased 'Superstar' Rajinikanth once again in an action-packed role and fans will no doubt be looking to witness yet another electrifying performance from him in theatres starting this week. Featuring music composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman, the film is also the big directorial comeback of Aishwarya Rajinikanth after 3 (2012), Vai Raja Vai (2015), and the documentary Cinema Veeran (2017), and she will be looking to hit the bullseye once again.
