Popular television actress Kratika Sengar and her husband Nikitin Dheer announced on Thursday that they have welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The couple took to social media to announce the happy news in a post along with the caption: "We feel blessed to share with you the arrival of our darling daughter! -Dheers #harharmahadevॐ 🧿" According to news agency PTI's report, Kratika and Nikitin's spokesperson had earlier in the day confirmed the joyous news in a statement addressed to the media. "To all their well-wishers, Nikitin Dheer and Kratika Sengar Dheer have been blessed with a baby girl this morning. Wishing the little angel and the new parents on town, all the happiness," their spokesperson read the couple's note.
Kratika and Nikitin tied the knot in an arranged marriage back in 2014, with the couple announcing their pregnancy in November 2021. Earlier in an interview with Etimes, Kratika spoke about the first 5-6 years of marriage and how she was not "mentally prepared to have a baby." She said, "All this while I was working and had my commitments so there was never a question of starting a family. It's only when I got a little free and I had time in hand, I started thinking of starting a family. During the first 5-6 years of marriage, I was not mentally prepared to have a baby. It is very important to first prepare your self that you can handle the responsibilities and only then you should go ahead with it. When you are a working woman and when you become pregnant you know that you will have to give your full time to the baby and you will be away from work so for that you need to be mentally prepared."
On the work front, Kratika Sengar became a popular name in North India after her appearances in serials like Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She later landed lead roles in shows like Jhansi Ki Rani, Punar Vivah, Service Wali Bahu, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki and was last seen in a cameo in Choti Sarrdaarni in 2021. Nikitin, on the other hand, made his debut in Bollywood in the Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-starrer Jodhaa Akbar and also featured in films like Chennai Express, Shershaah and Sooryavanshi, including the Salman Khan-starrer Antim: The Final Truth.
