After almost 50 years, Rajinikanth's animated film Kochadaiiyaan will be the first non-Kannada film to be released and dubbed in Karnataka. The industry has imposed a 50-year ban for dubbing and releasing other language films. The last dubbed film was Maya Bazaar in 1965. The newly formed Dubbing Film Chamber has now given the nod to release dubbed films in the state amidst many oppositions.
