Today marks one year since the nationwide blockbuster, K.G.F: Chapter 2, starring 'Rocking Star' Yash and is the most expensive Kannada film ever made to date. The sequel to the 2018 hit, K.G.F: Chapter 1, directed by Prashanth Neel under Vijay Kiragandur's Hombale Films banner, turned out to be a phenomenal box office success raking in more than 1200 crore in worldwide collections. With KGF: 2 ending on a cliffhanger note showing Yash as Rocky perishing into the sea and the final shot of the film showing a file with the text, K.G.F: Chapter 3, there has been a huge buzz regarding the threequel since then.
With fans celebrating one year of K.G.F: Chapter 2, Hombale Films has now released a special video featuring several memorable moments from the film, while also dropping yet another major hint about the next installment. The latest video featurette starts off with a revisit to Rocky's empire, followed by several high-octane and action moments featuring Yash being shown, with the visuals then transitioning to the text, "WHERE WAS ROCKY FROM 1978 - 1981?". The subsequent text that follows is: "MOTHER OF ALL COLLISIONS IS YET TO BE WITNESSED", followed with the question, "WAS THE PROMISE KEPT?", with the question mark then changing to the numerical 3.
Hombale Films' latest video ending with the hint of K.G.F: Chapter 3 has no doubt come as a big surprise for fans, who have been expressing their wish for the third installment to begin soon. It is to be noted that the KGF: 2 post-credits scene featured a character by name John Booker, a CIA agent presenting a file to Ramika Sen (played by Raveena Tandon) that included the crimes of Rocky in the U.S. and 16 other countries between 1978 and 1981, with the narrative then shifting to the present time when an office peon comes across a file with the text, 'K.G.F: Chapter 3' - Final Draft. The subtle hint of a K.G.F: Chapter 3 film left fans elated and all eyes are now on the big announcement of the film. Filmmaker Prashanth Neel is at present shooting his upcoming biggie, Salaar, with Prabhas in the lead role, and plans for his next after that, the tentatively titled NTR 31 with Jr. NTR set to roll into production.
