The countdown is on for the grand theatrical release of the K. G. F: Chapter 2, which will open worldwide in cinemas on April 14. The sequel to 2018's K.G.F: Chapter 1, the upcoming film will see 'Rocking Star' Yash reprising his role as Raja Krishnappa Bhairya aka. Rocky Bhai and is directed by Prashanth Neel under producer Vijay Kirgandur's Hombale Films banner. With the pre-release formalities for KGF 2 already underway, Hombale Films' executive producer Karthik Gowda announced on social media on Thursday that the first KGF film will be getting a re-release on select screens across the country from April 8 to 13 at subsidized rates. He tweeted, "#KGFChapter1 will play in select screens from April8-13 across the country at subsidised rates. Go relive Rocky bhai entering Narachi and gear up to watch what he does next." KGF: Chapter 1 turned out to be a massive commercial success at the time of its release in 2018 and went on to become the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time. The film garnered huge popularity across the country after it was released on streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam languages and made Yash an overnight pan-Indian star. With the makers now announcing the re-release of KGF: Chapter 1, fans across Tamil Nadu, who earlier didn't get to watch the film in theatres, will be getting an opportunity to witness the grand action on the big screen. 

As for KGF: Chapter 2, the film will see Yash going up against Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, who has been cast as the antagonist Adheera and their scenes have been billed to be intense and loaded with massive action. Furthermore, the film has actress Srinidhi Shetty returning to play the female lead alongside Malavika Avinash, Anant Nag, Archana Jois, Vasishta N Simha, Avinash BS, Achyuth Kumar, Balakrishna, who as well are reprising their roles from the 2018 original. KGF 2 also has Prakash Raj, Raveena Tandon and Vada Chennai fame Saran Shakthi in major supporting roles and their inclusion has raised a lot of curiosity among fans.
