With the release of Mahaan being as successful as we hoped it to be, Karthik Subbaraj has switched seats -- from sitting on the director's chair, to switching back to the producer's chair. He is presenting the upcoming film, Buffoon, through his production house Stone Bench Films along with Passion Studios Production.

Written and directed by Ashok Veerappan, the film's official trailer was launched today (March 14) by none other than Sivakarthikeyan himself. Karthik Subaraj took to his official Twitter handle to thank the actor for the much needed push and also to make the official announcement for the movie's teaser. He tweeted, "Here is the teaser of #Buffoon, our next film from @stonebenchers. Many thanks to @Siva_Kartikeyan for launching the teaser. Starring @actor_vaibhav and directed by @ashokveerappan. A @Music_Santhosh musical https://youtu.be/sdK22-1VLL0 @kaarthekeyens @Sudhans2017 @AnaghaOfficial." The film gives the vibe of a visceral thriller and it looks very inviting and promising.

The film features an ensemble of star studded cast members such as Vaibhav, Anagha, Joju George, Anthakudi Ilaiyaraja, Naren, Moonar Ramesh, Tamizh, Adukalam Jeyabalan and Madurai M.P. Vishwanathan. It is co-produced by Kal Raman, S. Somasegar and Kalyan Subramanian. Santhosh Narayanan has been brought in to compose the music for the film while Dinesh Purushothaman is all set to be the man behind the cam as the film's DOP (Director of Photography).
The film will be Ashok Veerappan's directorial debut, who is finally coming out of his shell after working on Pizza (2012), Jigarthanda (2014) and Dheepan (2015) as an assistant director/second unit director. It is safe to assume that after working with Karthik Subbaraj on two different occasions, his talents were well recognized which is why Karthik has invested in both him and his movie as well.
