Karthi's Viruman which was initially supposed to hit the screens on August 31 has changed its release plans and the new release date has been officially announced. Yes! The release date of Viruman has been advanced by 3 weeks and it has now been announced to hit the screens on August 12. The announcement was made through a new poster which looks colourful and vibrant and promises a quality entertainer. This new development has garnered attention on social media, making the fans look forward to watching the film. Recently, Viruman cleared the censor formalities and was given a U/A certificate by the CBFC.

This means that we are just two weeks away from witnessing the film in the theatres and the team will be kickstarting the promotions soon. The first single, 'Kanja Poovu Kannaala' turned out to be a massive hit among the masses and the rest of the songs will be released on August 3 through a grand audio launch which has been planned to take place in Madurai. Viruman is directed by Muthaiya who is known for directing films like Kutti Puli, Komban, and Maruthu. Ace filmmaker Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar will be making her acting debut with this film and it is going to be exciting to witness the actor inside her.

Prakash Raj, Raj Kiran, and Soori would be playing pivotal roles. Produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the banner of 2D Entertainment, the film will have cinematography handled by Selvakumar SK of Maanagaram fame, while Venkat Raajen and Jacki have taken care of the editing and art direction departments respectively. Anl Arasu has choreographed the stunt moves. Apart from Viruman, Karthi has two other movies in his lineup - Ponniyin Selvan which is set for release on September 30 and Sardar which will be out in theatres for the festive occasion of Diwali.
