Karthi's upcoming action drama, Sardar has got an exciting update and it has set the fans in excitement. Sardar has been officially announced to hit the screens for the festive occasion of Diwali this year and the update has garnered wide attention. Interestingly, Sardar has become the first Tamil film to book the Diwali slot and more exciting biggies are expected to join the list soon. The Diwali release announcement was made through a new poster, the second look which gives us a glimpse of Karthi sporting the cop look. Karthi pulls off the majestic cop look quite convincingly and he looks super fit for the part.

Sharing the poster, Karthi tweeted, "Happy to reveal the second look from #Sardar. Looking forward to celebrating Diwali with this ambitious project. #SardarFromDiwali2022 @Psmithran @RaashiiKhanna_ @rajisha_vijayan @gvprakash #Laila @ChunkyThePanday @george_dop @AntonyLRuben @lakku76 @Prince_Pictures". Karthi will be seen playing dual roles in this film, one as a police officer and the other as an ageing convict. Sardar is expected to showcase Karthi in a different dimension and it looks like a promising film is loading.

Sardar is directed by the promising PS Mithran who made films like Irumbu Thirai and Hero. Produced by S Lakshman Kumar under the banner of Prince Pictures, the film features Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan as the female leads. Laila will be making her acting comeback with this film and it is going to be interesting to see her back in action. GV Prakash will be scoring music for Sardar that has cinematography and editing handled by George C Williams and Ruben respectively.

Karthi's next release in Kollywood will be Viruman which is slated to release on August 31. Viruman is directed by Muthaiya and features Shankar's daughter, Aditi Shankar playing the female lead. Viruman is produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment.
