Karthi is currently shooting for his upcoming action drama, Sardar, which is directed by PS Mithran of Irumbu Thirai and Hero fame. The film will feature Karthi playing dual roles - one as a strict police officer and the other as an ageing convict. With the shooting of the film currently taking place at a brisk pace, the makers have shared an interesting shooting update and here are the details about it. A few days back, the team flew to Azerbaijan to shoot certain important sequences from the film and those scenes have been shot at a mammoth budget of Rs. 4 crores.

The shoot took place at the Parliament of Azerbaijan and Bollywood actor Chunkey Pandey who plays an evil villain in the film, shot his sequences at the said location. Following the completion of the shoot at the Parliament of Azerbaijan, the team shot a few other scenes in Georgia, as well. Put together, the team has spent 4 crores for shooting at both these locations and it looks like these sequences will have a crucial part in the film. Sardar is produced by S Lakshman Kumar under the banner of Prince Pictures and this is the costliest film, in terms of budget, in Karthi's career.

The shoot of the film is currently happening in full swing in Chennai. Raashi Khanna and Karnan fame Rajisha Vijayan play the female leads in this action drama that has multiple other talented actors playing important roles, including the likes of Chunkey Pandey, Yugi Sethu, Munishkanth, Master Rithvik, Avinash, Murali Sharma, and others. Interestingly, Laila will be making her acting comeback with this film and the fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing her in action. GV Prakash Kumar is composing music for Sardar which has cinematography handled by George C Williams and editing by Ruben. Dhilip Subbarayan will be choreographing the stunts. Sardar is scheduled to release for the festive occasion of Diwali.
