Karthi's Sardar which released for the festive occasion of Diwali has turned out to be a highly successful venture at the box office and has emerged as a profitable venture to everyone associated with the film's trade. Sardar released in theatres on October 21 and it opened to favourable reviews from critics and the general audience. The film is having a great run at the box office and that said, the latest box office collections of the movie have been known. As of last night (October 31), it has been confirmed that Sardar has made a whopping collection of 85 crores at the box office and is just 15 crores away from entering the 100-crore club.

This number indeed tells us the massive success of the film. With the humongous success of Sardar, Karthi has delivered a hat-trick in style. He has had three releases in 2022 - Viruman, Ponniyin Selvan, and Sardar, and interestingly, all three films have been highly successful at the box office. While Viruman was declared as a super hit in the trade, Ponniyin Selvan turned out to be a historical mega blockbuster. Sardar is now a blockbuster and 2022 surely belongs to Karthi. Sardar is directed by PS Mithran who has bounced back in style with his strong writing and effective packaging.

Produced by Prince Pictures, Sardar has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar and features Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan as the female leads. Karthi in dual roles, carried the film on his shoulders and his performance fetched positive reception from the masses, especially for his portrayal as the spy, Sardar. A sequel to Sardar has also been officially announced and it will go on floors next year once Karthi completes his current set of projects. Karthi, up next, will be teaming up with director Raju Murugan of Joker fame for a new film which is expected to go on floors very soon. Following that, Karthi will work with Lokesh Kanagaraj on Kaithi 2.
