Leading Tamil actor Karthi's fans were in for a surprise on Tuesday evening when production banner Prince Pictures unveiled new stills featuring him as a police officer from his upcoming film, Sardar. Karthi has over the course of his career balanced his projects spectacularly well and it will be interesting to see him collaborate with PS Mithran, who impressed everyone in his debut, Irumbi Thirai, with Vishal, which he followed up with the ambitious Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Hero. A motion poster for Sardar released last year featuring Karthi in an elderly get-up received a thunderous response from fans, who have been expressing their excitement to witness the actor this time in dual roles that will offer him plenty of scope for a memorable performance once again.
Apart from Karthi, Sardar, touted to be an action thriller, also stars Rajisha Vijayan, who made heads turn with her powerful performance in Dhanush's Karnan last year under Mari Selvaraj's direction. Likewise, youth sensation Raashi Khanna has also been cast as another female lead and her inclusion too will add to the USP of the film, which includes Simran in a pivotal role alongside Munishkanth Ramadoss, Murali Sharma, and Ilavarasu, while Bollywood actor Chunky Panday is cast as the antagonist. Sardar will feature music by chart-buster composer G. V. Prakash Kumar and the film is yet another big one for him, with fans expecting him to deliver yet another memorable album.
