Today (February 23) marks the 15th year release anniversary of Paruthiveeran which marked the onscreen debut of Karthi who is now one of the leading stars in Tamil cinema. Paruthiveeran is a textbook example of how a debut film should be and Karthi couldn't have asked for a better launchpad. Directed by Ameer, the film featured Priyamani as the female lead and had music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Paruthiveeran earned critical acclaim in all departments. There has been no lookback since Paruthiveeran and Karthi has now become a force to reckon with.

Having said that, Karthi has now issued an official statement expressing his love and gratitude for completing 15 years in the industry. Karthi's official statement read, "15 golden years since Paruthiveeran. I feel blessed to have started my acting career with that film. Every move of mine was designed and tutored by Ameer sir and all the credit goes to him. Of the many lessons learnt, I still treasure the way he taught me to immerse myself and enjoy the work that I do. Thanks to Ameer sir, Gnanavel, Anna, my dear fans & media for ushering me into this beautiful path!".

Karthi's next release in Kollywood will be Viruman which is currently in the post production stages. Viruman is directed by Muthaiya and has director Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar playing the female lead. Viruman is slated to release in summer 2022. Karthi is currently acting in Sardar which will have him playing dual roles. Sardar is directed by PS Mithran who made a promising debut with Irumbu Thirai. Sardar which has Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan playing the female leads has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

Not to forget Ponniyin Selvan which is going to be a milestone film in Karthi's career. Karthi will be seen playing the character of Vandiyathevan in Ponniyin Selvan, helmed by Mani Ratnam.
