Director Lokesh Kanagaraj made heads turn in 2017 with his action thriller, Maanagaram, which incidentally was his directorial debut and went on to be lauded for its intense screenplay and performances.

It must be noted that Lokesh Kanagaraj's name has been discussed among fans over the past few days after it was revealed that he is a prime contender to helm actor Vijay's next film, tentatively being called Thalapathy 64, with plans to roll into production once the ongoing sports venture, Thalapathy 63, under Atlee's direction gets wrapped up.
We had reported a while back that Thalapathy 64 will most likely be a gangster film with plans to get it out in theatres as a summer treat either in April or May 2020.
Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming film, Kaithi, starring Karthi in the lead role wrapped up production a while back and is gearing up to be a promising film this year. An interesting aspect about the film is that there are no female leads with the plot predominantly said to be set during night time.
Produced jointly by Dream Warrior Pictures and Vivekananda Pictures banners, Kaithi has music composed by Sam CS, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan, Philomin Raj taking care of the editing and is being billed be as a dark and gritty intense action thriller with stunts choreographed by the Anbariv duo.

With the film gearing up for a big release this year, director Lokesh Kanagaraj has now officially released a new poster in which it has been revealed that the Kaithi teaser will be out on May 30.
