It's official - the Kantara prequel will be titled Kantara: Chapter 1 – A Legend, the team of the film made the much-awaited announcement on Saturday, November 25. The announcement has come along with details of the upcoming film's first look poster release date and will see Kannada actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty once again returning to star in the lead role while taking on the directorial duties after the blockbuster Kantara (2022), which grossed more than 400 crores in worldwide box office collections.
The team of Kantara: Chapter 1 has announced that the first look poster will be unveiled on November 27 at 12:25 p.m., with the film revealed to be coming out in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English languages. The surprise announcement from the film's team reads, "Step into the sacred echoes of the past, where divinity weaves through every frame. Stay enchanted for a glimpse into the unseen!" Kantara: Chapter 1 – A Legend will also see music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath returning to compose the songs and the background score after his stellar work in last year's Kantara. The work on the prequel officially began back in March this year, with the team revealing on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi that the writing for the Rishab Shetty-starrer had commenced. They wrote on X, "On this auspicious occasion of Ugadi & New Year, we are delighted to announce that the writing for the second part of #Kantara has begun. We can't wait to bring you another captivating story that showcases our relationship with nature. Stay tuned for more updates." (sic) Kantara: Chapter 1 will most likely see Rishab Shetty sharing screen space once again with actors Sapthami Gowda and Kishore, and will be carrying tremendous expectations considering Kantara emerged as the second highest-grossing Kannada film of all time after Yash's K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022) directed by Prashanth Neel.
