Kanguva rolled into the post-production stage last week and the works are expected to go on for a while as the team is looking to package the film as the best theatrical experience for fans. The makers had earlier announced that the ambitious film will be coming out in cinemas as a grand summer release and it now remains to be seen whether those plans are still on. The team had earlier announced that Kanguva is set to be coming out in 3D format in more than 10 languages in order to appeal to audiences around the world.
Touted to be the biggest and most expensive film in Suriya's career to date, Kanguva will see the celebrated actor paired with Bollywood sensation Disha Patani, who is making her Tamil cinema debut in the Siva directorial. Likewise, Bollywood star Bobby Deol is cast as Udhiran and is expected to come out firing on all cylinders as the antagonist once again after his sensational performance in the Hindi blockbuster Animal (2023). Kanguva will feature songs and a background score composed by Devi Sri Prasad, who has become one of the most sought after names in Indian cinema after his work in Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 (2021), which earned him the National Award for Best Music Direction.
