South India's legendary actors Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal met�on February 20 (Friday) at Mohanlal's newly-opened star hotel Travancore Court�(Kochi) to discuss the final script and shooting schedules of their�next film, tentatively titled Thalaivan Irukiran, a Tamil remake of the Hindi film A Wednesday. Later, Mohanlal confirmed that Kamal will don the role of the Naseeruddin Shah, while he will don the role of Anupam Kher in the original.
In November 2008, Mohanlal had in-principle agreed to do the film after a meeting with Kamal Haasan in Chennai. Directed by Chakri, an US-based ad filmmaker and�friend of Kamal Haasan, Thalaivan Irukiran, an action-packed adventure, will be simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu. Rajkamal is the producer. According to sources, Telugu hero Venkatesh will replace Mohanlal in the Telugu version.
Thalaivan Irukiran is likely to start rolling from March 9 in Chennai and will later be shot in Hyderabad. Mohanlal, who is currently busy with State award winning director Blessy’s Bhramaram, has given 18 days call sheet for the film and will join the shoot from March 23. According to initial information, the film will be shot in US and Switzerland. The music is by Oscar award winner A.R. Rahman.
Thalaivan Irukiran has only a single role for a female actress, that of a�TV anchor who chronicles an event. According to sources, 'Mirchi' Suchi and SS Music Veejay Pooja have been approached for this role. At the same time, some Malayalam newspapers�suggest that Bollywood Mallika Sherawat will play the�TV reporter. However, it is learnt that nothing has been finalized. The film is likely to release in July.
