'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's Vikram's theatrical release date announcement will be made on March 14 at 7 a.m. on the occasion of the film's director Lokesh Kanagaraj's birthday. Touted to be an action-packed thriller, the upcoming film is currently one of the most-awaited ventures to be coming out in Tamil cinema this year and will see Kamal Haasan sharing screen space with National Award-winning actors 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil, who are reportedly playing negative roles. Earlier, it was announced that Vikram would be hitting screens this April and it now remains to be seen whether the makers have locked a date for the release next month. 

Produced by Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran under the Raaj Kamal Films International banner and featuring music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander, Vikram's three powerhouse performers and a star-studded crew have been working on the film for the last nine months. Principal photography for the film resumed in August 2021 despite lockdown restrictions and the new variant that threatened to derail the shoot, with the crew thereafter working tirelessly following all necessary protocols. Up until now, the promotions for Vikram have been on point, with the film's first look featuring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil receiving a tremendous response from fans, who have piqued with interest since then. 

Post the Vikram title announcement teaser in 2020, a special glance promo was also released last year on the occasion of Kamal Haasan's birthday and gave fans the first glimpse into the massive action that awaits them. Barring the leads, the film also stars Narain, Chemban Vinod, Kalidas Jayaram, and Gayathrie in pivotal roles. Furthermore, it is being reported that Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 fame Shivani Narayanan, television actresses Maheswari Chanakyan, Myna Nandhini, including veteran actor Santhana Bharathi are also a part of Vikram's cast.
