During the Vikram success meet, Kamal Haasan was asked whether he would be collaborating on a project with 'Thalapathy' Vijay in the future. The iconic actor replied saying that he has held discussions for a film with Vijay while adding that he is waiting for the right time and the right story that will appeal to both of them. Kamal Haasan further pointed out a statement when he recently called Vijay as Vijay ayya and clarified that it was just an affectionate form of calling a person like the legendary 'Nadigar Thilagam' Sivaji Ganesan used to call him Kamal ayya.
Whether the elusive 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan-'Thalapathy' Vijay project will turn out to be a reality remains to be seen and only time will if such a film goes on to be announced and made. As of now, both Kamal and Vijay are committed to their upcoming ventures as the former has in the pipeline a project with Malik fame Mahesh Narayanan and a film under Pa. Ranjith’s direction. Vijay, on the other hand, is currently filming Thalapathy 66, which has him paired opposite Rashmika Mandanna and is being directed by Vamshi Paidipally, while the superstar will be teaming up for the second time with Lokesh Kanagaraj for Thalapathy 67 after their 2021 blockbuster Master and an official announcement is awaited for the same in the days ahead.
