‘83 is an upcoming biopic drama based on the life story of former Indian cricket team captain, Kapil Dev and the real incidents from the 1983 World Cup. Ranveer Singh plays the lead role as Kapil Dev, while Tamil star Jiiva will be seen as Krishnamachari Srikkanth. The film has managed to hold the attention of the audience ever since the project’s announcement and Ranveer’s character look poster gained the buzz on social media. Directed by Kabir Khan of Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame, ‘83 has music by Pritam and Julius Packiam (background score). The film is scheduled to hit the screens on April 10, this year.

‘83 will also have a simultaneous release of the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions. On that note, it has been revealed that the Tamil version will be released by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, along with Y Not X Studios and Reliance Entertainment. RKFI holds a good name for producing and delivering quality cinema and on that note, their association with ‘83 has come as an interesting news. Raaj Kamal Films International had last produced the Chiyaan Vikram starrer, Kadaram Kondan.

Similarly, Y Not Studios is also a renowned banner known for producing quality films like Irudhi Suttru, Vikram Vedha, Game Over, etc. RKFI will be joining hands with Y Not X Studios and Reliance Entertainment for the grand release of ‘83 in Tamil Nadu. As far as the Kollywood market is concerned, Thalapathy Vijay’s Master is also scheduled for its release on April 9, one day ahead of ‘83’s release. Similarly, the Telugu dubbed version will be released by Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Annapurna Studios. The association of these two superstars with the film has assured a grand release in the South.
