'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan is filming the highly-anticipated Indian 2 in Chennai and production is progressing at a steady pace under blockbuster filmmaker Shankar's direction. The upcoming film is one of the biggest ventures in production now and is reportedly targeting a Diwali release this year. With Kajal Aggarwal also joining the sets last week, Kamal Haasan on Thursday, March 9, surprised fans by posting a photo of himself along with his international stunt team from the Indian 2 shooting spot. In the latest picture, the actor is seen carrying a big smile while discussing an action sequence with his team, which he has termed in his caption as "Verb" along with the hashtag "#bulletactiondesign".

Indian 2 is touted to be a political film and marks Kamal Haasan's reunion with director Shankar after two decades when they first worked in the cult classic blockbuster, Indian, in 1996. The sequel is expected to include massive action sequences and will see Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy from the original film, with the ongoing leg of filming planned as a 30-day schedule ever since filming resumed last month. The promotional material for Indian 2 released so far has given a glimpse of Kamal Haasan's Senapathy and there is a huge excitement regarding how his character and the story will pick up after the events of Indian. Jointly being produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies banners, Indian 2 will see Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal sharing screen space with Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, late actor Vivek, veterans Delhi Ganesh, Gulshan Grover, and former cricketer Yograj Singh (Yuvraj Singh's father) among others in key roles. The film was announced to be Anirudh Ravichander's first collaboration with Kamal Haasan until last year's Vikram, with the composed expected to hit the high note once again.
