Arjun Das has come a long way in quick time and has now been announced to be playing a key role in Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's next big film OG. The young Tamil actor penned a heartfelt note on Saturday evening, June 10, thanking the people associated with the film among whom include Pawan Kalyan, director Sujeeth and iconic Telugu film producer D. V. V. Danayya. Arjun Das, who garnered immense popularity among Tamil cinema fans for playing the antagonist in Karthi's 2019 smash hit Kaithi, while appearing in a pivotal role in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's blockbuster Master in 2021, shared his thoughts about boarding OG and also thanking fans for their love and support.
In a detailed note, Arjun Das revealed that his casting in OG was not initially planned by the team, who made the announcement after a photo leaked on the internet showed him at the shooting spot. Recalling his meeting with Pawan Kalyan, he wrote, "I don't know where to start... I landed in Hyderabad early last morning and visited the OG set to meet with the team. Was extremely nervous and excited, but meeting Pawan Kalyan Garu in person was surreal. A picture from the set went out yesterday, and ever since, the only question I was being asked was 'OG lo unnara?' (Are you in OG?) (sic)". Arjun added, "I didn't know what to say, as the official announcement wasn't out. But yes, now I can finally say - Avunu Nenu OG lo unnanu (Yes, I'm in OG) (sic)." He then extended his gratitude to the team starting with the director and producer of the upcoming biggie. He said, "Thank you Sujeeth Garu for believing in me, thank you Danayya Garu for the opportunity." Arjun concluded his statement writing, "Pawan Kalyan Garu thank you so so much. Will forever cherish what you told me yesterday. Truly looking forward to working & sharing the screen with you. A big thank you to the press, media & the Telugu audience. OG is one of the biggest films in the making and is DVV Entertainment's next after the global success of RRR last year directed by S. S. Rajamouli starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles. Touted to be a mass action entertainer, the film also has Tamil sensation Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead and is her third Telugu venture after Nani's Gang Leader (2019) and Sharwanand's Sreekaram (2021), and will feature music by chart-topping composer Thaman.
